With a history of success, our students consistently excel, securing top ranks in university examinations. Notably, Miranda students achieved the first, second, and fourth positions in the 2019 Bangalore University results and again bagged first and second ranks in 2021.
Prof. S.N. Katarki, the founder of Miranda College of Education, is a renowned social worker and has been working in the field of education throughout his life. This institution has built a glorious name for itself under his guidance and motivation. His contribution and constant support is there for the betterment and upliftment of education. He worked as Lecturer in commerce Gavi Siddeshwara College, Koppala from 1963-1965. In 1965 he joined as Lecturer in Commerce, Sri Jagadguru Renukacharya Evening DegreeCollege, Bangalore. He was designated as General Manager of Reddy Co-operative Society, Dharawad from 1966-1974 and Manager of Karnataka State Forest Industrial Limited 1974-1981. The insight and vision towards education directed him towards the education and he established Miranda Education Society, Bangalore in 1982. In 1988 he was the Secretary of Karnataka Unaided School Management Association. He visited America for review of American education policy during 1991.
He is bagged with many rewards and honors by reputed organizations. In 2000 he was honored with Indiragandhi Sadbhavana [Social Service & Education], New Delhi. In 2001 Rashtreeya Rathna award for Social Service and Education. In 2007 he awarded Abhinandana Grantha Samarpane “Saadhaka”. In 2009 he awarded Siddayya Puranik Prashanthi. He is so kind and humble personality therefore, time to time he makes so many donation and contribution in relief of society.
The world is changing; it more competitive and at the same time offering enormous opportunities to those who possess appropriate skills, the right attitude and an innovative mind. Dream big, think big, experiment and be passionate in whatever you do. Challenge the norms, create new and make your identity.
But what we must not forget is that success does not come this way. It cannot be achieved instantly. It only comes with sheer hard work, dedication pushing oneself beyond one’s capabilities, striving for excellence and making the best of opportunities. Our mission is to inculcate the love of knowledge in our students and, for this; we aim to develop the skills and demeanor of lifelong ‘learning,’ essential for making responsible global citizens. This will make them immensely capable of facing the future with resilience and optimism. On the deeper level, we try to instill the values of respect and trust in relationships that are the foundation of real success. Today we are living in a fast changing complex society, which presents before us challenges as well as opportunities. I firmly believe that every human being endowed with various talents and skills as a precious gift of God. Miranda Education Society established in 1982 has been contributing to the cause of quality education with dedication and dynamism. The “Knowledge is the power” which by itself is thought provoking. The society is recognized for its quality of education through the different branches. Like, Miranda English Primary and High School, Miranda Composite PU College, Miranda College of Education, Chetana PU College, Yelahanka, Miranda College of Nursing, Yelahanka, Miranda School of Nursing, Yelahanka, Bassamma Katarki English Public School and Bassamma Katarki PU College, Koppala.
Our institution was formed by the Management and a team of Service-oriented individuals with the aim to promote education and culture in all aspects in order to achieve and fulfil the mission statement that we believe in.

Miranda College of Education is an integral part of Miranda Education Society. It was established in 2004 and since then has been working towards facilitating the evolution of the student community into motivated professionals with an emphasis on human values and commitment. Miranda College of Education is one of the prestigious Teacher training institutes under Bengaluru North University in Karnataka. The institution has a glorious history in the teacher education by providing quality training to the prospective teachers. It is recognized by NCTE. And Permanently affiliated to Bengaluru North University. The institution is accredited by NAAC with B++ grade in 2016. The motto of the institution is “In Pursuit of Excellence”. The institution has been catering to all. It is proud moment that in 2019, Bangalore University first, second and fourth positions were bagged by Miranda student. The history again repeated in 2021, the 1st and 2nd ranks bagged by Miranda students.
The institution organizes various academic activities, conferences, workshops, seminars for the teacher educators. Community based activities, Workshops on teaching skills, seminar presentations, simulated teaching, preparation of Instructional Kit, Community oriented Minor projects, personality development programmes and training in yoga are carried out. Educational excursion, field activities and community living camp are the part and parcel of the institution.
